Google Nexus 7 (2013) vs Nexus 7 Benchmarks


Google Nexus 7 vs new Nexus 7 Benchmarks
Google released the new Nexus 7 manufactured by Asus last month. We brought you the review of the device recently, and here we managed to compare new and old Nexus 7 tablets in terms of benchmarks . The new Nexus 7 is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) CPU and Adreno 320 GPU and has 2GB of RAM. The first Nexus is powered by a 1.3 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 GPU with 12 Core NVIDIA ULP GeForce GPU and had 1GB of RAM. The new Nexus 7 has a 7-inch 1920×1200 HD display and runs on the latest Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) OS, we had also updated the old Nexus 7 to Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). Let’s see how these two tablets perform in several benchmark tests.

The new Nexus 7 scores 5847 points in the Quadrant benchmark, while the old Nexus 7 scores 3517 points
AnTuTu Benchmark 3.3

The new Nexus 7 scores closer to 20k in the AnTuTu Benchmark 3.3, but the old Nexus 7 scores just 12010.
Vellamo 2.0 HTML5

In the Vellamo 2 HTML5 browser benchmark, the Nexus 7 (2013) scores 1668 points and grabs the second spot, but the old Nexus 7 manages to scores 1386 points, even though it runs on the Android 4.3.

The new Nexus 7 tops the Vellamo 2 Metal CPU subsystem performance test, but the new Nexus 7 scores 355 points, less than the Fonepad.
Linpack Single Thread

The new Nexus 7 powered by the Qualcomm S4 Pro CPU scores around 96 points in the Linpack Single thread benchmark, but the Tegra 3-powered Nexus 7 scores around 47 points.

Again the new Nexus 7 grabs the second spot with 224 points, but the old Nexus 7 scores around 95 points and grabs the 6th spot, behind the Tab 3 311.

The Nexus 7 (2013) clocks 60.2 fps, which the Nexus 7 clocks around 55.5 fps in the NenaMark 2 GPU benchmark.

The Adreno 320 GPU in the new Nexus 7 clocks 16 fps in the GFXBench 2.7 T-Rex, but the old Nexus 7′s NVIDIA ULP GeForce GPU manages to clock just 5.4 fps.

Again the new Nexus 7 tops the GFXbench 2.5 Egypt Benchmark with 41 fps, but the predecessor clocks just 14 fps.

The new Nexus 7 tops both the BaseMark X onscreen and offscreen benchmark. Thanks to the high-res screen and a powerful processor. The old Nexus 7 lies at the bottom. So the new Nexus 7 is the clear winner. The new one is a worthy upgrade. The new Nexus 7 tablet has been launched in several countries and is also expected to launch in India soon.

Nokia’s Windows RT tablet detailed, Codenamed Sirius


 We’ve previously brought you details and leaked images of Nokia’s Windows RT tablet. Following a spate of reports published today, the tablet is all but confirmed. As expected, the tablet will follow the same design language as seen on the Finnish company’s Lumia range of devices. The device will run on a Snapdragon 800 processor and will be equipped with a 1080p display that is expected to have the ClearBlack technology as seen on its phones. This technology helps makes displays much more readable even under direct sunlight.

  • LTE support
The tablet will have 32GB of storage which should be expandable via a microSD card slot. A 6MP camera will be placed on the rear of the device while a 2MP snapper would on the front of the tablet. Variants with built in LTE will also be available. It is believed that a removable keyboard with a built in battery will be available as an accessory for the tablet that is supposed to deliver 10 hours of battery life. The tablet is expected to be priced right in line with the iPad and is expected to be announced at an event in New York on the 26th.
